Project Pan: Sixth Product Completed: The Body Shop's Tea Tree Shampoo

It's been a while but I finally completed another product. This Project Pan has proven to be a struggle considering the time of year with all the sales. This proves that I can stick through it. I finished the Body Shop's Tea Tree Shampoo for Oily Hair and Scalp. I found that this shampoo was not only great for my oily hair but also good for dandruff this time of year. The scent, however, was not fantastic. It didn't smell bad, but it didn't smell good either. It was just kinda there.

Although I would repurchase this product again, I cannot as it has been discontinued. Luckily I still have another full bottle that I bought as back-up. This has proven to get the job done when nothing else could. It will be hard to find a replacement for this product.

Project Pan: Fifth Product Completed: Clarins Daily Energizer Lotion with SPF 15

So far it's been a fantastic morning. I woke up right away from my alarm (and didn't hit the snooze button once), I'm having a good hair day, I have left-overs saved for lunch, and the roads weren't packed with traffic this morning. On top of all that, I completed my fifth product for my project pan. I finished the Clarins Daily Energizer Lotion with SPF 15. Now, this isn't a huge accomplishment considering it's only 30 ml but none the less. I originally purchased this product in the summer because it was inexpensive ($25), small enough for travel, had SOME SPF, it's oil-free and smells like oranges.
Although Clarins claims this product is mattifying, I disagree. No, it didn't give me extra luminosity, but it still wasn't matte. I did enjoy this moisturizer. It was hydrating enough but I didn't feel like it did anything special for my skin. Don't get me wrong, I didn't break out from it and it wasn't over drying, it's just that I want to use anti-ageing products and/or products for my pores.

I will definitely repurchase this next summer while traveling.

Project Pan: Third Product Completed: Lush Alkmaar Bath Soap

This morning I completed my third product, which was the Lush Alkmaar Bath Soap. Now, I didn't completely think this through, so please forgive me, I have no picture to prove it's done. Here's a picture of Lush's website.

This was a great soap. I felt clean and yet moisturized, which is uncommon for me to find. I don't like anything overly moisturizing because then I don't feel clean. My only issue with this soap was the scent. It was just OKAY. I will purchase another Lush bath soap, but not in this scent.

Project Pan: Second Product Completed: Mac Brush Cleaner

I just finished unpacking from a much needed little get-away including some wine tours. As such I started to clean my brushes and low and behold I finished my Mac Brush Cleaner. I don't understand all the ranting and raving behind this products because I found that I had to still clean my brushes afterward.
I will not be repurchasing this product as I find that baby shampoo works a ton better. I will however keep the bottle for Back 2 Mac.

Project Pan: First Product Completed: Clarins Extra-Firming Foundation with SPF 15

Good morning everyone, today I finished a foundation. The foundation I finished was the Clarins Extra-Firming Foundation with SPF 15. This is product was fantastic. It was light weight, had medium coverage, and was oil-free. It was the perfect shade, and blended well with my skin.
I will definitely repurchase this foundation once I have finished my others. This product lasted me quite a while because I only needed 2 pumps for a "full coverage" look. This was a great buy.

Project Pan #2

It's Friday! I have decided to embark on a second Project Pan, but this time it will be a Project 20 Pan. I still have a lot of products I need to work through in order to significantly reduce the size of my collection. This one will prove to be a bit more tricky as it is the holiday season and there are sooo many cute things.

Here are some things on my WANT list:

What's on your list?

Tenth Product Completed: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream with SPF 42

I did it! I completed my project pan! I finished 10 products! The product I completed was the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in Shade 13. This product claims to be wrinkle repairing, whitening and sun protection all in one. I don't know about wrinkle repairing but I did find that it made me look fairer (shocking, I know), and it was definitely good sun protection.

This BB Cream is by far my favourite. I've tried quite a few and this is not only better than any of the other Asian brands I've tried, but it's even better than the new American ones. However, being better than the American brands is saying too much :P They just aren't the same. This product was creamy, but not heavy, and had decent coverage. I will definitely repurchase this.

Ninth Product Completed: Biotherm BioPur Pore Reducer Gentle Purifying Lotion

This morning I finished my Biotherm BioPur toner. I am so glad that it's finally done! Although it feels great while putting it on it just wasn't right for my skin. It claims to be alcohol free and non comedogenic although I did feel like it WAS clogging my pores and causing a LOT more blackheads.

Not only would I not re-purchase this product, but I can't! This product has since been discontinued by Biotherm (I wonder why...).

Have you ever tried a product that claims to be non comedogenic and felt like it clogged your pores?

Eighth Product Completed: QUO Mini Eye Make-Up Remover Pads

This evening I finished my eighth product. The product was my QUO Mini Eye Make-Up Remover Pads. These were very easy to use, super convenient, and great for travel all at a good price ($5). Although it was a good price, I don't know how "valuable" it is because there are only 30 wipes in a pack.

Now comes time for the ultimate question...would I buy these again? Probably not. Why? Because I already have other eye make-up removers AND more importantly because I think these can easily be replaced with less expensive Baby Wipes.

What products do you think can be replaced with something else?

Seventh Product Completed: Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris

Last night I finished my seventh product. I finished my Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris. This is not a product that I'm happy to see go but it will force me to use some of my other already started toners. This toner is alcohol free, not super drying, doesn't cause me to break out. It has a nice scent, without being heavily fragranced. I have to say, I enjoyed this toner.

I will definitely EVENTUALLY be repurchasing this product. I have 3 other toners still at home that are half-finished that I need to get through before I can justify repurchasing this one. I'm one of those people that NEEDS to use a toner, otherwise I notice a huge difference in my skin. Having combination skin, balancing oil (especially around my large pored nose) has always been difficult. Using a toner has always helped me with that.

Do you use toner? What's your favourite?

Sixth Product Completed: Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Moisturizing Emulsion W

I feel very excited and accomplished to have finished my sixth product for my project pan. The product I finished was my Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Moisturizing Emulsion W. This took my FOREVER to finish because it was a 75 ml bottle! Definitely a lot of product for the money. Shiseido describes this moisturizer as "A brightening nighttime moisturizer that revitalizes skin after daily exposure to external stressors such as UV rays and dryness. Improves skin texture to optimize skin's clarity and promote inner radiance."

This product definitely gave me radiance and helped to even out my skin tone without leaving me super greasy like most non-matte night creams. Although I did enjoy this product, I probably won't be repurchasing it anytime soon considering I have a few other night creams that I need to get through. I also want to start using moisturizers for fine lines.

What are you looking for in a night cream?

Fifth Product Completed: Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

I just finished my fifth product and ran to the computer to write this! I feel like it's been so long! The product I finished was the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. This is a fantastic eye makeup remover, especially for the price. It's great at getting rid of even the toughest waterproof makeup and it's under $10! Could you ask for more? I found this better than even the Lancome Bi-facils. Shocking, I know. Needless to say I will definitely be repurchasing this when I've finished my other, more expensive, eye makeup removers.

The only down side to this product was the oily residue it leaves. The container claims that it's not but yeah... Nothing a little water can't fix though.

Fourth Product Completed: KIBIO Soft Foamming Scrub

I have finally finished my fourth product! The product I finished was the KIBIO Soft Foaming Scrub, which I have to say, I couldn't wait to finish. I was not at all pleased with this product. Not only was it hard to get the product out of the jar without that horrible feeling of it going under your nails, it was extremely rough! I disliked the used of the crushed apricots and I felt like it was literally cutting my skin instead of exfoliating it. Towards the end I just started using it on my knees and elbows. Although I like the premise behind the brand (being natural and all), I was not impressed with this product.

So overall, would I purchase this product again? I'm sure you already know that the answer is no. I still have some other exfoliators to finish before I can go out and buy a new one, but it definitely won't be this one.

Have you ever used an exfoliator and hated it?

Third Product Completed: Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Eye Treatment.

Yesterday morning I finished my Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Eye Treatment. This product took me over 6 months to finish! This is a decent eye cream, considering I don't have dry eyes. The package says it is highly moisturizing, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone looking for a ton of moisture. I noticed it helped quite a bit with my dark circles. It's suppposed to help with both melanin formation and microcirculation. I used less than half a pump for both eyes, and a lot of product came out each time. Would I purchase this product again? Probably not. Not because I didn't like it, but because I have 2 more eye creams at home already; there are a few others I want to try for fine lines as I am starting to notice some; and because I'm pretty sure it's been discontinued.

This eye cream contains multi-luminizing powder with light diffusing properties to instantly bring luminosity to eye areas. It does not look shiny or sparkley, however, it does make you look much more awake. This can be used morning or night. If you have to choose one, I'd say do this during the day as it gives a little bit of instant gratification.

What eye creams have you tried and loved?

Second Product Completed: PurMinerals 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup Foundation with SPF 15

Great news! I finished my second product for project pan! The product I finished was the PurMinerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation with SPF 15. This is something I use if I'm in a hurry and just want a clear complexion. It's great for building coverage, all you have to do if change the brush you use, and you can completely change the coverage you get! I love using this product with a concealer brush for any breakouts. It covers them fantastic. The only problem I have with this product is when I haven't exfoliated in a while. I find when I have a lot of dead skin this product looks very powdery and cakey.

This product is vegan friendly, gluten free, and paraben free. It has vitamin E and organic shea butter, combined with SPF 15 all tied up in one great product.

I will re-purchased this product again mostly because there really isn't anything too similar to it on the market. I like that it is a pressed mineral powder that I can control the coverage of. There's nothing worse than loose powder flying all over the room. I use the colour Porcelain through-out the year.

First Product Completed: Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser

I am very excited this morning! I finished my first product for my project pan! The product I finished was the Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. I usually use this product about 3 times per week in the shower. This is a great exfoliator that gets rid of make-up and dead skin and that I will definitely repurchase in the future once I have finished all my other exfoliators.

The main ingredients in this product are Moringa Seed Extract, which helps to restore the skins radiance as well as purifying the skin, as well as Orange Extract, which is great for refreshing and toning the skin.

I have repurchased this product quite a few times and am very pleased. I love the soft, effective texture, I love the way my skin feels after, and of course, I love the scent. The orange extract in the product is really refreshing.

The Goal

Hello Everyone!

I am starting a Project 10 Pan. Why am I doing this? Well for one thing I have way too many products that I never get around to using and/ or finishing. Added to that I need to save some money and not blow it all on beauty products.

I have tried to complete a Project Pan at the beginning of the year and failed. Why? It took too long. *shrugs* My rules were a lot more complicated. Not only was I not allowed to buy a new product of the same type until I finished all of them in my collection, BUT I couldn't buy anything until I finished SPECIFIC things on my list. I had set aside 10 products that I wanted to finish first, which wasn't very realistic considering one of them was an eye shadow quad (which takes FOREVER to finish).

So rather than just give it up all together I'm going to give it another go :)

I am going to give a review on products once I've finished them to decide whether or not I would repurchase them again in the future and also to give you some insight as to whether you should.

I will post any time I purchase or I am given a new product (even if it's only cotton pads).

If you have any questions along the way please comment and let me know!

One of the ways I'm going to try and finish more products is by remembering to use products that I often  neglect to use. Everyone has their "thing" here are mine:

Skincare wise I always neglect my body! I have so many creams, etc. and I rarely use them! I'm going to change that this month.
Make-up wise I will often neglect to use setting spray. I swear by the stuff but I am in too much of a rush in the morning to consider that a necessity. Maybe I will put a sticky note on my vanity to remind myself to do it.

What's one product you often  neglect to use?
